Jake's last line really should've been, "The artist figured the body count on these pages was high enough already and its time the chapter ended anyway." That's the real reason for the sudden vanishing of the cultists.
What do you think about Martina? Was she a witch, was she a miracle-worker, or did she just have the everyday kind of super-powers and a big sense of flair? Curious whatcha think.
Also, I think I might need to have Jenny hug someone in every chapter from now on. We're three-for-three, so why not keep going?

Kind of the funny thing about that, in a lot of the planning and stuff Nicky was supposed to be more of the cheerful one of the group. Still has elements of that, but I'd say in execution Jenny's pretty handily taken that distinction. Helps that there are kind of some elements of Nicky having a bit of a temper.
Anyway, not too much to say on this one. Near the end of the chapter at this point, and to that end should probably get the cover for the next one drawn since we haven't done so yet.

Like I said before. Artifacts. Martina seems to be using magic artifacts. They could be the source of her power, or they could merely amplify what she has. But the artifacts have been out when she used all of her powers. With the exception of the lightning bolt. I didn't see an artifact there. However, her star dog summon came from a symbol on her robe, or that's what it looked like at least, so I would guess the simpler version of that would be just using the symbol without removing it and making it obvious. Hidden artifacts already in direct contact with her could be easily used with great secrecy to give the impression that she has none of those. Still, the lightning could be her own natural power and the artifacts just make up for a Crippling Overspecialization.
And there I go overthinking again. TL;DR: magic artifacts, and maybe natural lightning powers too.
And remember kids: Always pay attention to your surroundings. If you don't, you might let the bad guys get away by accident. And that's terrible!
