Yeah, Lenore is on this... Erm... Jeez what to say...
But yeah, if you're curious, the order of the kids for Lenore's triage is Lore (concussion), Nicky (burns), Jenny (broken leg), Grant (cracked ribs), Valerie (internal injuries), and Jake (dislocated shoulder).
What I like about the page is how close everyone sorta looks, from Andy and Grant holding onto Lore, to Grant shepherding Lenore around, to Jake holding Jenny's hand (and only leaning against the car, clearly in pain when Lore takes over it). I even kinda like the way everybody's just on the floor. Something about those moments when everybody's just on the floor...
You'll notice Lore is still sort of cut. Martin pitched that they might still be sort of wounded or showing signs of the beating after Lenore healed them. Was really, REALLY split on that, like was a down-to-the-wire decision, but kept it in because I was sort of afraid of making Lenore TOO much of a crutch. Which says a lot when she was given healing powers as a possible backdoor. I just don't wanna have to kill her off at some point to keep the tension up, Dende-style.
Again, this page was trimmed waaaay down for time. That last panel is because I wanted to find a way to consolidate the group coming home, getting Lenore, and Insomniac feeling remorse over what happened into a single shot. Was a really transparent way of cutting down the length. Granted, I DO like just cutting to Lore waking up in the center, but still.
Martin's Comments:
This one was pretty time-consuming to color, biggest head count in awhile. At least the background was fairly minimalist, helped by how I could take pretty much every color here from back at the end of Based on a Blue Story. Some refinement along the way but for the most part was able to do some straight lifting there, which always saves time.
Not really sure what all I have to say on this one. One funny thing - usually I don't really look at the script while I color things unless I'm unclear on what's going on without dialogue or whatever, so for the last panel I colored it as still in the garage. Adam had to edit the page to give it the night colors.
Speaking of. . . Yeah, good to get out of the night colors, spent a significant amount of time on that in the current WaR chapter and a huge chunk of this one on it. Not really anything difficult to do, far from it, just good to get back to the more vibrant look after not having very much time with it with the group in this chapter. Few more pages left to go in the chapter speaking of, won't give an exact number right at this point in time but not a huge amount to go. Would say this chapter's lasted awhile but it's nothing on the current WaR chapter's length.
