And on this note, we end the chapter. ^^

When I was a kid I used to watch X-Men on Saturday mornings (show was terrible, by the way, Nostalgia aside). My dad would sit in his armchair while I did it, reading the paper and watching me as I watched it, and he'd ask me why there was so much violence? Why did they all need to hit each other? I was too young to grasp the message of prejudice at the time, so I could only answer that it was cool.

That's one reason I really like the way this chapter turned out. There was action, but things weren't solved by violence. The kids didn't need to save Aurora from a super-villain or even her husband, they just needed to help her when she was in distress and protect her from her own panic and fear. Sometimes that's sorta neat to see.

I don't like action heroes who are pushy, short-sighted brutes itching for a confrontation. I like heroes who can once in a while solve their problems without violence and are willing to talk their way to solutions if possible. I like it when the kids can be kind and friendly in this job.

As for the page itself... like the atmosphere to it and it's the first time we see Jake without a jacket on. Ever. Weird, huh?

Martin's Comments:
Not much to say on this one myself, but happy with it. Do like how this page and the last one tie everything up in pretty short order, instead of dealing with the repercussions of things for a more extended period of time. We'll probably see some of that later, but sometimes you just want to take a break and move to another storyline for a bit.

So yeah, that's what happened here. Next cover is on Saturday, and like the recent WaR and BP ones has been retooled a bit from previous covers - albeit in some different ways from those two. Hopefully everyone's pleased with the results there.
