We're trying to make the lines on the speech balloons thicker. Looks a bit more professional and helps distinguish which ones are separate and which are connected. Opinions?
I've said before Marvelous Man is the hardest character in these comics to write. Well, I was sort of surprised by him a lot in this chapter. It wasn't until I actually typed this bombshell out that I realized he probably would be just as surprised as everyone else.... and have the same moral indignation as the kids.
Huge text-dump I know but.... Yeah. When you think about it, it probably IS worth examining the nature of these kids powers and trying to reverse-engineer it. Wanted to make it clear that while they HAVE been going behind people's backs to create Marvelous Man, the school's overall goal is still a noble one. Sort of.
That said though... A lot of the stuff the Blues kids get mad at Marvelous Man over I feel are objectively wrong but understandable from their point of view. If you're being exploited and someone shows up to be morally outraged FOR you, that's sort of dehumanizing. Especially when... y'know... that person also directly profited from your exploitation. Marvelous Man being outraged isn't necessarily... "wrong" but... uh... poorly timed.

The shift to the thicker word balloons was super abrupt - like actually done a few pages after this and then we just backed up and added it here. So yeah, not at all too early for opinions on the subject if anyone's got any they want to share for or against.
I do like Nicky's reaction here, getting to play up the indignation of the whole matter. In general I kind of like his more pouty moments like this, tend to be amusing and does kind of make him and Valerie come off a bit more similar to each other than they are at first glance.
Another thing I quite like is that in this current leg of the conversation, really kind of everyone has some good points. Think it helps it feel a lot more like a conversation with some weight behind it rather than just a conflict or a hurdle for our heroes.
