Aaaaand, finally we get Grant. He's the last of the main seven cast members to show up. Guess he's a little shy. ^^

He gets a bit more screentime than Nicky or Jake for this first chapter, but we don't see much of him. Maybe that's good, it'll keep him sorta cryptic and keep the fans guessing until the next chapter. Likely not fooling anyone, but eh.

The dialog on this page was different in the script, but got re-written when I finally drew it. Originally Valerie was more dismissive, but I remembered there are decent reasons to want a different roommate, especially since he might be a bully. So it was tweaked a bit to make her check what the problem was. It still came out awkward, leading Martin to add Nicky's last answer to Valerie while he was coloring. Owe him big. ^^

Wow, the extras on this one came out great. I was drawing that one kid so his hair would look like kitty ears and instead he wound up with devil horns. I said to Martin on AIM, "I think I just made a devil-child" and he replied, "Sounds about right for that school."

I kinda half-regret doing this subplot with Nicky being spooked out by Grant, but it did make some unintentional humor here. He's spooked out by the girly-looking boy with blond hair. Not the devil-child or the pale-faced creepy kid. No, girly boy. That's the scary one.
